How do I connect with others?

In addition to connecting with us, there are many organizations in Massachusetts, the country and internationally that are addressing climate change. They focus on many different aspects – education, land and biodiversity stewardship, advocacy, financial assistance to affected communities, and more. We have a long list of such organizations based on the experience and interaction by someone on our committee. We are happy to talk about any of them. Harvard Climate Action Plan

The plan lays out climate goals for Harvard through 2030.

Apple Country Nature Based Solutions Report

The project identifies and delivers Nature-based Solutions that will increase the resilience of our community and ecosystem.

Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Advisory Committee

The Committee preserves, protects, maintains and enhances the environmental, aesthetic, recreational and economic values of the Bare Hill Pond while promoting watershed management.

Harvard Board of Health

The Board of Health provides for the protection of public health, the control of disease, the promotion of sanitary living conditions and the protection of the environment from damage and pollution.

Harvard Conservation Commission

The Conservation Commission is responsible for administering the Wetland Protection Act (Ch.131 S40) and the Harvard Wetland Protection Bylaw. The Commission is the official agency charged with the protection of the community’s natural resources and management of town owned Conservation Land.

Harvard Conservation Trust

The Trust is a private, charitable, non-profit land trust whose mission is “to preserve the unique character and natural resources of Harvard.”

Harvard Energy Advisory Committee

The Committee advises all town boards, departments and institutions on a full range of ways to reduce energy consumption and costs, and improve energy efficiency use and practices.

Devens Climate Action and Resilience Plan (PDF)

The Devens Plan serves as a roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and holistically prepare the community as they consider the impacts of climate change.

HEET is focused on affordable and equitable transition to clean energy by advancing building decarbonization, particularly the transition from gas to thermal utilities.

Massachusetts Clean Energy Center

A state economic development agency dedicated to accelerating the growth of the clean energy sector across the Commonwealth.

Climate Reality Project

Former U.S Vice President Al Gore founded this global network of 3.5 million people working to build a just and sustainable true net zero future. Holds numerous trainings led by Al Gore throughout the year in person and online. Provides tools and a broad international network.

Elders Climate Action MA

Mobilizes elders and society to exert pressure on lawmakers and government agencies to develop policies that respond forcefully to climate change, while promoting climate-friendly and socially just behaviors.

National organization chapter that works for clean air, clean water, clean energy, wildlife and open spaces, and a livable climate.

Environmental Defense Fund

For more than 50 years, the EDF has been building innovative solutions to the biggest environmental challenges. They tackle the biggest issues for maximum impact to ensure clean energy transition, healthy communities and the ability of people and nature to thrive.

Environmental Voter Project

Identifies inactive environmentalists and works to transform them into consistent voters to build the power of the environmental movement.

League of Conservation Voters
