Confronting the Climate Crisis

Dr. Jane Flegal serves as the Market Development and Policy Lead at Stripe Climate and Frontier, managing a $1 billion+ initiative aimed at purchasing permanent carbon dioxide removal. Named one of Vox’s Future Perfect 50 in 2023, she previously held roles such as Senior Director for Industrial Emissions at the White House Office of Domestic Climate Policy and directed climate and environment programs at prominent foundations. Flegal’s research, highlighted in publications like Nature Climate Change, focuses on the social dimensions of climate change, including public engagement, equity concerns, and responsible research and innovation. She holds a doctorate in environmental science, policy, and management from UC Berkeley and has been featured as a guest on The Ezra Klein Show discussing solutions to climate change.
